Inspiring Words on our Big Goal

A Message from Diane Thompson, Our Dream Big Campaign Chair

Hello, my name is Diane Thompson, and I am proud to serve as the Dream Big Campaign Committee Chair. It has been my honor and privilege to be a Soroptimist for the past 40 years, and particularly now as we celebrate our 100th anniversary and the launch of our Big Goal—investing in the dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education by 2031.

I believe in our ability as an organization to enact change through our Dream Programs, the Live Your Dream Awards and Dream It, Be It, and I believe in all the members and clubs throughout our 20 countries and territories working tirelessly every day to make an impact in their local communities and around the world.

What is your dream for the women and girls we have the opportunity to serve?

I dream about one half million more women and girls living their dreams with tools and skills to thrive. I dream about the positive impact they will have in their families and their communities. I then dream about their positive impact on Soroptimist, when they use their knowledge of how our programs supported them reaching their dreams and living the life they want, and they now advocate for our work. I dream about when they support and join us in our work to reach the next million women, and the millions after that.

That is what the Dream Big Campaign is all about. Setting our sights on a Big Goal, with big dreams, and coming together to raise the $15 Million in resources needed to expand, deliver, and sustain our programs into the next century.

This campaign is an investment in ourselves so that we can invest in four times more women and girls than we are currently serving.

On behalf of the DBC Committee, we invite you to join us, the Board of Directors, and members throughout Soroptimist International of the Americas in dreaming big as we increase our impact, further our mission, and invest in dreams. Thank you.

A Message from Kazuko Morita, 2021-2022 SIA President

[ VIDEO TRANSCRIPT ]

Hi everyone. My name is Kazuko Morita and I am the 2021-2022 SIA President, from Soroptimist International of Kyoto, Japan Chiro Region. I have been a Soroptimist for 36 years. I am thrilled to serve as your President as Soroptimist continues our focus on providing women and girls with the education and training they need to achieve economic empowerment.

This year, we are dreaming big with the goal to invest in the dreams of half a million women and girls through access to education. It is a truly big and audacious goal that will require the support of our volunteers, clubs, donors, and supporters.

I personally have chosen to support the campaign because I want to be part of a movement dedicated to creating sustainable impact for women and girls that ensures they have the resources and opportunities to reach their full potential.

I sincerely invite you on this occasion to join a great journey as we challenge ourselves to invest in the dreams of half a million women and girls through our Dream Programs.

Your support will help our organization continue in perpetuity and celebration of its centennial anniversary. Your support will also help us to thrive in our next century as we seek to quadruple our impact in 20 countries and territories.

I appreciate your understanding and cooperation. Thank you very much.
